About the colony
Years ago there was a group on Facebook with more than a million people in it whose only purpose was to pretend to be ants. Someone would post a photo of ice cream with the caption FELLOW ANTS, I FOUND ICE CREAM. MUNCH WITH ME AND THEN TAKE SOME TO THE QUEEN, and eighteen thousand people would reply L I F T.
It was one of the best things on the internet and it had no mechanics at all. Nothing was ever actually lifted. Undercolony is that group with the mechanics added. Finds have weight. Lifts count. The queen gets fed. The colony grows, digs, defends itself, and raids the colony next door. Once a day the whole world lifts the same birthday cake.
It is free to play, it runs in the browser, and everything you type comes out in capitals whether you like it or not. There are no loot boxes. There is a Pringle.
House rules
- Be an ant. Ants do not harass people. Ants lift.
- No bots. A find lifted by a script is a find that never reaches the queen, and the account goes in the kettle.
- Raids are part of the game. Being raided is not an insult. Dig a granary.
